We use essential local storage for login and analytic tools strictly after consent. We do not use cookies to sell personal data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account, verify your identity, match riders for bike pooling, enable communication, improve platform performance, and enhance safety. We do not sell your personal data.
When a user files a safety report related to a conversation, a snapshot of recent messages (up to 20 messages) from that conversation may be attached to the report for review by our Trust & Safety team. This is done solely to investigate reported safety concerns and enforce our community guidelines. Message evidence is retained only as long as the associated report remains active and is deleted upon resolution.
4. Camera Permission
The app may request access to your device camera for:
- Identity verification
- Uploading profile images
The camera is only used when you choose to perform these specific actions within the app.
5. Identity Verification
Uploaded IDs are used only for verification and are reviewed manually or via secure systems. VELO does not use government databases or Digilocker APIs without explicit authorization.
6. Parcel & Ride Data
Ride and parcel details are visible only to relevant users and stored securely. VELO does not monitor parcel contents beyond declared information.
7. Data Sharing
We share limited data between users involved in the same ride or parcel, and with service providers strictly for platform operation. We never share data for advertising without consent.
8. Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable steps like secure servers and encrypted connections (HTTPS) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
9. Data Retention
We retain data as long as your account is active or as required for legal purposes. Identity documents may be deleted after verification or retained temporarily for audit.
10. Your Rights
You may:
- Access your personal information
- Update or correct your data
- Request account deletion
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)

11. Third-Party Services
VELO may use third-party services such as Firebase for authentication and backend services. We also use third-party tools for maps and routing, analytics, payment processing, and email delivery. These services have their own privacy policies, and VELO is not responsible for their practices.

VELO is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
